Ford seems to be having some fun these days, as the company announced a new release from the Mustang Mach-E GT stable and will now offer the GT Performance edition that can travel 0-60 mph time in 3.5 seconds.
According to Ford, the automaker will deliver the Mustang Mach-E GT and GT Performance Edition next summer and start taking orders in Spring 2021. Here are some details about the new trim model:
480-hp
634 lb-ft. torque
235 miles
Paint choices: Cyber Orange Metallic Tri-Coat, Dark Matter Gray Metallic, Rapid Red Metallic Tinted Clearcoat, Star White Metallic Tri-Coat, Grabber Blue Metallic, Shadow Black, Iconic Silver Metallic and Space White Metallic.
Originally, Ford was targeting the end of 2020 for deliveries for the 1st Edition, but moved into early 2021 according to multiple reports. See the reservation holder below:

Enough Range?
Now some critics have noted the Performance edition has only 235 miles and feel this will hamper sales for Ford or reveal it to be a pretender in the EV space for 2021 and 2022. I’m not in this camp, since the other Mach-e trim levels have a more range and the EPA recently verified Ford’s initial claims about range. See below:
According to a recent EV survey from Fleet Carma, 89% of #ev drivers feel their range is sufficient for daily usage and 98% for long-range #BEV owners — most consider long range to start at 225 miles. So the 235 mile range for this stunning trim level should be more than enough for these owners, especially with new fast charging station additions of late.
